Set up your base unit in a convenient location close to a power source. Open up the access panel underneath the dock, connect the power cable, then re-insert the access panel.
Once the unit powers on, it will be connected via a mobile network by default. In order to operate correctly, the device must be connected to your Wifi. Please start by tapping F3.
Navigate to Control Panel > Terminal Settings > Communication Means > Wi-Fi > Enable. Once the Wifi has been enabled, tap on Scan networks, then select your store network and type in the wifi password.
Once the network has been connected, you should see the following screen. Please do not touch the terminal until this screen disappears.
You are now connected to the internet (go you!)
Take a card payment.
Tap checkout then take a note of the total order amount.
Tap on Total Payments – but do not click on mark as paid yet!
Type in the amount required using the keypad and press the green button (or tap Ok on the screen).
The customer now has the option of tapping their card/phone or inserting their card.
The message “APPROVED” will display once the transaction has been successful.
Please retain the merchant receipt for the end-of-day process. Please note that if a customer types in their card number, it will issue a cardholder receipt also. Please give this to the customer then tap the green button to proceed with the merchant copy.
Now tap on “Mark as paid” to complete the transaction and print out the customer receipt.
Issue a refund.
Please note: The following instructions are for any transactions completed via the new card machines. All orders prior to the new card machine must be refunded via the standard Shopify method.
Press the menu button once and then tap on REFUND.
Enter your supervisor code (please speak to a manager or supervisor to gain access to this code).
Key in the amount to refund then press the green button (or tap Ok).
The customer must then tap the card/phone or insert the card into the terminal.
Please note: This must be the same card as the original transaction otherwise the refund may not go through.
Once completed, a merchant receipt will be printed – please retain this for your end-of-day banking.
End-of-day banking.
Press the menu key twice, then tap on REPORTS then enter your supervisor password.
Tap on END OF DAY. This will print out your Z-REPORT and your END OF DAY report on one receipt.
This MUST be done at the end of each day that you trade.
Changing the paper roll.
Hold the terminal securely in one hand. With the other hand, and by using two fingers, lift the
printer cover release as shown.
Fully open the printer cover and remove the old roll of paper.
Unstick the end of the new roll, leaving the end free, hold the paper roll and carefully place into
the printer compartment.
Holding the free end of the paper and the terminal, close the printer cover and push it firmly until it locks. While your terminal is displaying the idle screen, press and hold the paper feed key to ensure that the paper feeds correctly.
